GSP Wins University Intramural Title

In 2008-09 Gamma Sigma Phi won championships in Softball, Soccer, 3-on-3 Basketball, Track, the ACU Rodeo and Tennis to collect 1133 points and win the University Intramural Championship. Galaxy finished in second with 790 points and Frater Sodalis finished third with 195 points.

Softball Tourney Raises $1000 for OIF

Gamma Sigma Phi raised $1000 for the Osteogensis Imperfecta Foundation with its 1st Annual GSP for OIF Charity Softball Tournament. Sixteen teams competed in two leagues, one men's and one women's, in a round robin format tournament held over a four-day period.

In the men's divsion, Gamma Sigma Phi beat HEB in the title game to go undefeated on its way to winning the championship. Sigma Theta Chi defeated Alpha Kai Omega to win the women's title.

In addition to entry fees, money was raised through snow cone sales and a speed pitch competition. Bobby Saenz, freshman biochemistry major from San Antonio, won the speed pitch contest with a throw of 81 mph.
